Kenyans For Palestine (K4P) Stand in Solidarity with Palestine

Kenyans for Palestine (K4P) is a nationwide grassroots network of activists standing in anti- colonial solidarity with the Palestinian people. As anti-Zionists and internationalists, we shall educate and agitate for the full human rights and complete liberation of all who live under the racism of Israel’s ethno-nationalist apartheid state by building bonds of common struggle and opposing Israel’s economic and political interests in Kenya and beyond.

In Solidarity with the Palestinian people in pursuit of Justice, Liberation and Self Determination

Kenyans4Palestine stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people as they wage a war for liberation against an occupying force. This is not a war of ‘terrorists’ but a struggle against the apartheid state of Israel and its colonial project. Israel’s supporters in the West and beyond have been complicit in this crime against humanity and their continued financial, moral and military support of the murderous regime of apartheid is atrocious and unforgivable.

We have witnessed the ruthless demolition of Palestinian homes and farmlands, the theft of their water sources, the conversion of Gaza into the largest open-air prison in the world, the killing and imprisonment of Palestinian children, the elimination of journalists who expose these crimes against humanity, the relentless building of new settlements in spite of them having been declared illegal by the UN, the refusal to allow Palestinian exiles to return to their homes, and so much more.

We, therefore, express our deepest disappointment with President William Ruto for expressing ‘solidarity with the State of Israel’ and condemning the Palestinians as “terrorists”. We in Kenya remember that our freedom fighters were also branded ‘terrorists’ by colonial Britain as they waged their own heroic struggle to overthrow colonialism. How can our leaders now call for the “de- escalation of violence” while Israel’s decades-long violent subjugation of the Palestinian people since 1948 goes unanswered?

K4P once again calls on Africa as a whole to stand up to the settler-colonial state that is Israel, to oppose the normalisation of diplomatic ties, and to refuse Israel access to our institutions and economies.

We salute the courage and resolution of those fighting the occupation from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and reaffirm the right of an occupied nation to resist its occupier and coloniser.

The Truth will prevail. Viva Palestine!
